: Metro Crane Service begins performing crane installations, inspections, and preventative maintenance programs. The company works in conjunction with MIOSHA personnel to help in developing safety inspection guidelines for overhead bridge cranes and trains many of MIOSHA’s original inspectors.
1981: Crane Equipment Supply is established to provide crane service companies a one-stop shop for parts and equipment.
1991: All of these companies are combined into Crane Technologies and housed in a single facility.
1998: Crane Technologies takes its complete product line from built-up hoists to crane components nationally, setting up a network of dealers and distributors across the country.
1999: Crane Technologies is named the exclusive distributor for Black Bear products in the eastern half of the United States.
2000: Crane Technologies moves into a new 50,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and starts applying “lean manufacturing” practices to reduce overall costs and improve its product and service quality.
2003: ISO 9001 certification completed. Crane Technologies has become one of the largest crane service companies in the state of Michigan with more than 30 dealers across the country.
2004: Crane Technologies wins the first-ever U.S. Navy WHE-MAC Competition and is awarded the first WHE-MAC contract. Crane Technologies also becomes a master parts and equipment dealer for the Crane Mart Group.
2008: The Michigan economy tumbles into recession, but Crane Technologies continues to grow as a result of exceptional customer service, custom-engineered products, and superior attention to detail.
2012: Crane Technologies is nominated for Chrysler’s “Sustainability Supplier of the Year.”
